You have the right to request the deletion of specific data collected by BasePack without closing your account.

How to request data deletion

BasePack allows you to request the permanent removal of specific categories of data. This is useful if you want to clear your history, remove all gear items, or purge your journals while maintaining your account and Pro subscription.

Identify the specific data you wish to delete (e.g., "All Packing Lists", "All Gear Inventory", "Location History").

Send an email request from your registered BasePack email address to verify your identity.

What types of data can be deleted?

Packing Lists

All your created lists, including weights and categories.

Gear Inventory

Your personal database of gear, weights, and images.

Journal Entries

All trip journals, logs, and associated trail statistics.

Location Data

Coordinates and location names tagged in your journals.

Media Attachments

Photos and file attachments uploaded to our servers.

Social Interactions

Comments you've made on others' public content.

Retention & Purge Policy

Immediate Purge: Once processed, the specified data is removed from our production database immediately and will no longer be visible or accessible within the app.

Backups: Encrypted backups containing the deleted tokens/records may persist for up to 30 days purely for disaster recovery purposes. After this 30-day window, the data is completely and irreversibly purged from our storage.

Data Kept: If you request specific data deletion (not account deletion), we will keep your profile information (email, username) and subscription status to maintain your account access.

Looking to delete your entire account?

Deleting your account will remove everything, including your profile and subscription data.
